Jalapenos ... a Top of the List Provisioning Essential

Be sure to load up on jalapenos when stocking up on provisions for the galley. Not only do they tast great on cornflakes in the morning but are also an effective deterent against Sea-Predators.

For those of Italian descent, peperoncini is recommended.

While I am sure that this was intended as a bit of a joke, I am sure that the shark could smell it. I am not sure that this affected the shark's decision, but it isn't farfetched to think maybe.

LOL....dump a large jug of hadrosaur urine all over yourself...it masks the scent and is quite pungent....burns the eyes....

But don't think it is a deterrent for deer in rutting season:

Ignore the comments if you go to the youtube page, the guy was not hunting but wanted to see what the deer would do if he smelled of buck urine.

An old wives tale... maybe... maybe not...
Would not dream of trying it myself... would not get in water with sharks.. no way..
Oh.. I believe one has to let it dry on the skin before immersion... dunno if peeing in ones wet suit would work... could explain off centre strikes to legs and shoulders....

"Dumdudumdumdumdum.... Phew.. yuck... Chomp... Damn... only winged it..."

jalepenos are too good to waste on feeding sharks, let them eat sea urchins

Camped in Banff; lots of bears around. We peed around the tent, and watched as one approached the pee line, took one whiff, and off he ran.

Proof? No, but real good anecdotal evidence.
