Never actually posted on this forum before but an avid subscriber. But on this topic, I can assure you of one thing, if you really want a real coffee shot on a yacht without
power to contribute to a "real" capuccino" or "flat white". The "Nanopresso"(early model was Micropresso) is amazing. It generates hydraulic pressure manually to create a barista style coffee shot.
I have amazed all my guests on my yacht Carinya with a perfect Flat White in the mornings.
You also need a S/S milk jug with a Thermometer, and an "Aerolatte" milk frother.
Process:
Put the kettle on, just enough
water for your coffee.
Put your milk in the jug(as much as you need) with the thermometer on a small burner.
Load your Coffee ground into the Nanopresso.
Water boiled. Pour into the coffee cup. Then load the water into the Nanopresso from your cup(water needs to be below boiling point)
Empty cup. the
pump Nanopresso into your cup.
When Milk reaches 60-65 deg C. (no more) Buzz it for around 20 seconds with your Aerolatte Frother.
Pour into your cup with your shot.
If you are used to Plunger coffee, then the Aeropress will do you.. I tried it but it will not be a short black or a cappuccino.
