Re: French Press coffee pot recommendation

Stainless steel french press could be a real plus.

Some stainless steels are ferritic and are thus magnetic. I have a shelf that has a 1/8 inch wood floor resting above small magnets above the actual cabinet floor. This is a fantastic place to hold things in place underway without having them totally locked down.

Re: French Press coffee pot recommendation

I have never blue water tested my glass IKEA french press, but it is very durable and quite inexpensive. I have both the single serving one, and the larger four cup model.

The french press is fewer parts, easier to use, and produces coffee faster so it's won out on our boat.
I carry two identical french presses aboard to avoid a coffee crisis. Started doing that after dropping one overboard...fortunately we were in relatively shallow warm clear water and I was able to retrieve it...crisis averted, but I didnt want to take that risk again!

When we have guests aboard, we can fire them both up to keep up w demand.

Yes, very nice, but a title like that just begs for some lyrics to spoof fancy mustard.

Like a ham and swiss on rye ? So good you feel you might die !

(That's my song lyrics)

Cheap Yellow Mustard sounds like it would be a country song.

Re: French Press coffee pot recommendation

I love my aeropress but was not keen on the feeling of impending fall when under sail.
So I made a multiaxial gimbal with my 3D printer!!!

This video shows the concept although I admit we were not heeling more than a few degrees
