Force 10 Problems

Our force 10 oven is driving the admiral crazy. It seems impossible to set the dial for a temperature and to keep it at a steady temp. Is there anything I can check or do to help her out other than sitting and watching the dial . Is there an actual thermostat or just the dial for adjustment?

I'd call Force 10 tech service at 800-663-8515 and explain the problem to them. Chances are they will turn out to be your best source.

You might try removing the burner cap and using a long needle to clean the center hole in the burner nozzle. Be careful and use a needle that is the same approximate size as the small hole. We do this from time to time and it makes the burners fire up like new. You might also remove the entire burner assembly and give it a thorough cleaning if the stove has some years on it.

An oven thermometer can tell you what the real temperature is. Mercury thermometers are better than spring based units. It is possible the thermostat is bad. My dad replaced them for 20 years in household ovens. There is no reason to assume a boat oven is exempt.

The advice to call Force 10 is better than a pissed off Admiral.

thanks to everyone for the advice. I had already cleaned the orifice and the burner is working well. But I contacted "Force10" and was told that there is no retro-fit thermostat for our model, bummer! So watching and adjusting is the answer.
