I bought a bottle of Pussers Navy Rum for the holidays.
Drank it on the rocks, no mixers.
Pretty smooth stuff. 84 proof, not raspy like I recall Bacardi rum to be.
Interesting stuff.

Re: Favorite Libation
There is some really good tequila around here, which I suppose is no surprise. Stuff that's made at local farms and brought down in label-less barrels.
My friend gave me a shot on New Years that was just 70% cold tequila and 30% squeezed lime juice. Tasted insanely good, super lethal.
On hot days I drink Corona Light. It's got barely any alcohol or calories which is sort of what I'm after if I'm drinking a few in the afternoon. It's all about the heat down here.

Had a Michelada yet? If not order Michelada Pacifico, it's the best way to drink beer down there IMHO.

Re: Favorite Libation
my current favourite, just discovered, is the Amaretto sour. If you can get it Di Saronno is the best, poured over ice, add a squeeze of lemon juice to taste and garnish with another slice of lemon. Sounds disgusting but is wonderful

Re: Favorite Libation
When this cat sails, he likes to rely on fresh ingredients. A good on board drink would go like this: Two ounces of Quality rum like Pamperos Anniversario. Half an ounce of St. Germaine Elderberry Flower liquer, one ounce of pineapple juice, a good nob of muddled fresh ginger, Squeezed half of a lime, and some muddled mint if I had it. Shake it all up over ice until super chilled and then served straight up.
Notice the drink has some health benefits to it: Fresh lime juice, fresh ginger juice, pineapple juice. Fresh ginger is also an aid to motion sickness. It's never a bad idea to add a splash of fresh HEALTH to your drinks.

Here is one a friend had me try. It goes with the Health drink above only this is just because it tastes wonderful-especially when warm outside... therefore it's medicinal! that was a reach!
Splash lemon
1.5 oz Hendricks Gin or Vodka
1 oz St Germaine
Sparkling Water or tonic
Simple syrup (half sugar half water heated to mix)
to taste
Cucumber slices (couple) Gives great flavor

Re: Favorite Libation
Rum punch: 1 heaped teaspoon sugar, a quarter of lime squeeze the juice over the sugar, then drop the piece of lime into the glass, decent sized shot of good rum poured over sugar and lime, decorate with a teaspoon. Stir, sip, stir some more, very nice, very strong.
OR: For cold rainy days, shot of rum in a mug, top up with boiling water, put a dab of butter on top, sprinkle with cinnamon.
