Fasta Pasta

I never liked cooking pasta on board because of all that boiling water. I also avoid gadgets advertised on TV. However a friend turned me on to Fasta Pasta, the microwave cooker. Merits: it uses less water, drains and stows easily and it can be used to nuke other foods too. Minuses: requires exact times for type and amount of pasta, and your microwave's output. I suggest laminating the brochure that comes with it. You need it often. Even al dente purists can use it with practice.
