Oh how I understand. My father who now in advanced age and shakes when he holds tools, still makes it look like childs play and me a hacker when he's exacting a square surgical edge on an iron.

They do but they're best for thin blades like a straight razor.

I keep a couple of water stones on the boat for sharpenng. One is 600 grit and other is 3000 I think. Water stones are easier to clean since theres no oil involved although it is hard to beat a good Arkansas stone.

GordMay, thank you for bringing the light. I was really annoyed watching that video and reading the first few posts.

If people can't figure out how to use knives right, how did we get so far along in other tech?

I can shave with some of my edges. Keep trying!

Opinels are my favorite pocket knives, put a zero grind on one of those thin carbon steel blades... ZING!
