emergency water stores

stuffing away 4 each 5 gallon water jugs as an emergency store.. capping off the jugs and stuffing them is various out of the way areas..
QUESTION IS,
besides adding Clorine to the water to keep the green stuff from growing inside the sealed containers, any Ideas to keep the water fresh..

Re: emergency water stores

If it was me, I would just buy some one gallon jugs with water. Around here I can get them for a buck a piece. The water is already treated. I keep one in my truck for emergencies and have never had a problem with it going bad.
I think you can purchase it in five gallon jugs as well.

Re: emergency water stores

Cycle your stored emergency water through your normal "in use" water, on a regular basis.
