carob only seems like a reasonable substitute fro chocolate if you are NOT a chocolate lover.
Or allergic. Totally agree, even a Hershey Bar is better than any carob bar I've ever had. On the other hand, Hagen Daz used to make a carob ice cream that I liked better than chocolate (but then I don't really like my chocolate diluted into ice cream anyway).
