For a boat without a fridge, in the tropics = canned butter. One of many amazing and tasty things we 'discovered' on the south seas ....

Fantastic Foods makes a really good variety of dried foods. The retail packaged foods are available in many grocery stores, and they have a wide variety of excellent foods (Fantastic World Foods.)

If you are on a budget, you can really score on the bulk foods. For example, the bulk Falafel Mix is $64.99 for 390 servings (17 cents a serving.) The Hummus is 972 servings for $38.31 (4 cents a serving.) The veggie chili is 303 servings for $38.82 (13 cents a serving).

"Sun dried tomatoes" ... and also sd tomatoes in olive oil ..YUMMMMMMMMY!

Bulk amts - YES - excellent point, RainDog.

Another funny thing - in some places of the world the good stuff just does not sell, so you can buy it at huge discount. We bought Italian pasta in NZ and Arabica coffee in OZ, just like that - local people deemed them, respectively, "too hard", and "too bitter" ...... Be ready to grab such opportunities as they come, and stock up.

Sundried tomatoes chopped and mixed in with cream cheese, add a bit of the olive oil it comes in to make smooth. Sprinkle with fresh basil and spread on foccacia bread - YUM YUM!
