compact Vac Sealer

Does anyone make or where can i find a compact vac sealer that runs on 12v...the ones i see like "food savers" are too big and take up to much room and the hand pump ones dont hold for very long....and suggestions

Re: compact Vac Sealer

Since getting the mason jar attachment I rarely use bags anymore. If I had to do it again I would have just bought a cheap tire inflator and converted it to vacuum pump to use mason jars. There are lots of videos on YouTube showing how to do so. PS the reason mason jars are superior is :they're reusable, if a seal goes bad it will usually ping and let you know, you just wash it and reseal, and lastly items cannot poke holes in it. The drawback is they take up more room and of course they're breakable but they're tougher than most people think

Re: compact Vac Sealer

Not likely to find one that runs on 12V, but they will run just fine on an inverter, and unless you are doing an awful lot of sealing, you are not using that much total juice anyway.

(using "juice" for units should either avoid or enrage the "units police...either way works for me. ) ; )

We mostly just use ours seasonally when putting the boat to bed or provisioning.

I just though of a system that might work....if you go to any auto parts place they most likely sell a vac system for working on your brakes...it is used to vac u r old fluid out and it has a Gage it shows the amount of vac...its manual so no elect required and its small and will fit anywhere...using it with your mason jar system.

Foodsaver makes a pretty small 12v one they sell to hunters. Have you looked at that one?
