Eggs do last a long time unrefrigerated and they are available pretty much anywhere. Don't they have powdered eggs too?

Not only do they take up less room, the boneless, skinless ones are a lot healthier! Perhaps they do better at sea and won't need health certificates becuase they are so healthy!

I have sailed for years with chickens over my stern. You will have no problem with Customs what-so-ever, if you can answer their one simple question; What arrived first, the chicken or the egg?

Mike, there will be no issue about departing with chicken livestock since they are readily available provisions.

However most quarantine on arrival in a new country will confiscate them unless you have the necessary import papers for that cargo.

A simple solution is to make sure that the chicken never makes landfall in a new country and munching on a drumstick upon arrival could become a tradition.
