Broadwater / Mariner Stove Help Needed

The thermal-coupler in our three year old Broadwater stove needs replacement. I've polished the sensor yet the oven will not stay lit.

I am getting no help from Maxco Industries what-so-ever and seems they've been sold to a mob who know of or care nothing for Customer Service.

Does anyone know of another source for these couplers OR a method to by-pass the coupler?

Please help - we are getting hungry!

Bypassing the thermocouple (BY JUMPERING ACROSS 2 TERMINALS) is a very bad idea, always "cautioned" by manufacturers.

I fully understand the ramifications and potential hazard of using this oven like one without this safety feature.

With any luck - someone may know if another manufacturer's thermocoupler would work on a Broadwater... or where else I might obtain the correct one.

They were originally made in New Zealand.

Any chance tyyou could swap out for say a Force 10. They all work the same if you can fit the thing in there. If your oven has a thermostat then usually the whole unit is one.

My memory’s failing me; but I believe the thermocouple & gas valve may be a matched set; which could be exchanged AS A PAIR.
Any Thermocouple & valve set, that will physically fit & mount, should work.

We had this problem with our oven on our Broadwater Schooner. I added more grounds from the thermocouple to the stove and have not had a problem since. I connected these at the valve end.

Anyone had issues with bad igniters on Broadwater stoves. I have one bad one, and the manual says something about taping up a wire, but I don't see how you even get to an wire. Having a hard time getting in contact with the company about a replacement part. Thanks,

The lesson here is to make sure that you buy spare thermocouples with your stove--they are consumable items, but last about 10 years, and it is much easier to buy them before your stove manufacturer goes out of business. There are gas stove specialists who stock various types, but invariably ours seem to be out of stock or 3 times as expensive as any others.

I just found this site for replacement thermocouples.
See there instructions on how to identify you model number for what ever stove and hey presto.

A friend in Oz just tracked down someone who can supply various spare parts for Broadwater Marine Stoves. I had him purchase a new oven rack for me to fit our Cutter two burner.

His website got hacked so he shut it down so snail mail or phone are your contact options.
