I don't have one as I'm not a non-stick person and have a sensitivity to aluminum so won't have one. I picked up a set from Defender with removable handles that is nice. There are many types of grill pans which is what this looks like to me. You might want to compare what is out there. I eat off high quality stainless or seasoned cast iron exclusively. An encapsulated aluminum base helps stainless produce even heat for cooking.

There are also stainless pressure cookers shaped like a sauté pan which I would suggest be given a peek. I like multipurpose.

I think my Cuisinart stainless nesting set is da bomb. It's not nonstick, but I don't want nonstick.

Had Cuisinart highly polished SS pans at home. Hated them. they are like the Antithesis of non stick, something like "pro stick!" to each his own I guess. I now have a Henkels SS with non stick I love.

Take a look at Amazon.com: Revere Polished Aluminum 11-Inch Nonstick Square Frying Pan: Kitchen & Dining . These work pretty well and are quite inexpensive all things considered, FWIW...

Am I the only one that calls this a griddle pan or just griddle? I don't think I've seen what I old call a square frying pan aside from the product in question. I've seen griddles and grill pans that are square but not a frying pan. Maybe I need to get out more.

I was looking every where for an item exactly like this i.e. square ,high sides, aluminum (low weight) teflon coated (less oil used) (teflon prevents food from contact with Al),and removable handle .I need to be able to center a small fry pan over the flame while using my 2nd burner. Ordered 1 immediately .Will report back after summer cruise if it lives up to expectations.

I've used several of these particular pans, as a result of which I immediately bought several to give away, and several to keep. They're that good. Not cheap, but very good value. (They're not intended for the late nite TV crowd, or for fly-by-night sale at county fairs)

The non-stick is the real deal, similar quality to, say, Tefal brand, and they even work on induction (purpose-built stainless base).
The material is really heavy (base and walls) and the heat is consequently very even.

Round frypans make no sense to me, in a compact galley. Round plates, too, for that matter.
Given thirty seconds, I reckon I could even concoct a case for square mugs... (when you wedge a bunch of them into a corner to fill'em up with hot water in rough weather, any which misses one mug will make it into one of the others... how's that for an extemporised rationale?)

Incidentally the frypans do NOT have removable handles. However the larger baking pan does, which of course it needs to... I didn't know about the pans, or the optional lids for the frypans, so I'll be making a couple more purchases. Thanks for bringing this up.

(PS: On their website, I see they can't spell gauge (guage schmuage!) but at least they can spell aluminium ;-)
No wonder nobody in the US will touch them....)
