Like this:

Which is what I had at home.
Wow, that's impressive. Love my coffee, but don't think I could bring myself to drop $1,700 on a coffee maker.

Holy crap. I had no idea, I was also speaking of the drip machine like Belizesailor!!! Putting a device like that on a
boat
is out of my league!!!

Re: Bean to Cup Machines?
It's all about the beans. Just grind'em up, put a basket style filter in a mini colander with a handle. Heat clean water in the tea kettle pour it through the grounds while colander is setting on the coffee mug. Grounds will make two good good strong cups. When finished, discard grounds and filter into trash bag. Who needs expensive
equipment
for a simple beverage?

I have the Jura C5 super automatic which I think is now out of production. But my sister recently got a

and loves it. Going for $400 now (she paid more).

Re: Bean to Cup Machines?
I am with Weavis on the value of semi-automatic machines over the superautomatic. Look at a Gaggia
Classic
with the PID mod, it is about $600, but requires an accurate grinder. With it you can make exquisite espressos and lattes, and even learn to do latte art. These things do require lots of
power
though. Another is the Rancilio Silva.

Re: Bean to Cup Machines?
We had a large DeLonghi ashore and loved it. When we moved onto the
boat
we found a smaller DeLonghi machine for about $300 on Amazon. It works just as well as the big machine and takes less space. Makes great coffee - worth starting your gen if you need to.

Instant coffee, usually stale, no cream or sugar...just really strong coffee. My cups smell like
diesel
and are stained with greasy thumbprints.
If you want a fancy drink, go ashore.

Re: Bean to Cup Machines?
The
English
coffee machine manufacturer Fracino make a dual
fuel
lpg and
electric
for coffee trucks. About $1000-$1200 will get a super
single
group
head
which will sit there
heating
on gas........... Ive used them and found no problems at all and also superior to a lot of other machines on the market.
a good grinder will start at $300. Then you are setup for coffee.
Carry a sack of your favourite beans-roast on demand and ll is good.

Ah yes............. the taste of Robusta. I use a 30% Robusta mix with Arabica to make Torrefacto with the beans roasted in sugar for the continental taste.

Sounds like what we drink on
passage
.
However, since I mostly
live aboard
, waiting to "go ashore" for good coffee is not a very good option for me.
