Last months "good old boat" showed how to build your own watermaker and save some money. By building it yourself you will know how to make repairs as needed. I have a 725 gallon a day unit with 600 gallons of tankage. That should be more than enough for the 3 of us.

I'm very interested in details on this. Where can I get the details. I'm in Europe and don't know the magazine 'Good Old Boat' - I assume it's a magazine?

The article "Build Your Own Watermaker" (by Guy Stevens) was in the Jan/Feb '03 issue of "Good Old Boat" magazine (issue 28). The article is not on-line, but can be ordered as a reprint.
It's an excellent article (and an excellent magazine) even if you don't intend to build it yourself.

I found this website about a water powered watemaker. You tow it behind the boat. It looks about 1/3 price of regular watermakers. Might be just the thing for a circumnavigation.
