Re: Any Coffee Drinkers ?

I have used all sorts of gadgets and gizmos for coffee, but on my boat I prefer to use an old stainess steel stove-top perc (with filter discs to keep the grounds out)...it fits with the KISS priciple I like to stick to and if you tend it right it makes pretty decent coffee (I'm not a yuppie coffee snob)...the fact that I use Bailiey's for coffee creamer because it doesn't need refrigeration, doesn't hurt either.

Not sure how the link will turn out, we've used a Melitta cone/thermos for years, coffee stays hot for hours...

Re: Any Coffee Drinkers ?

I have died in that time, anyway in spain just ask for Cafe con leche leche, ( yes double word) you get condensed milk coffee just like that ( especially common in the Canaries).

You get the condensed milk standard in Malaysia as well, and I drink my daily brew in Australia with condensed but I can assure you that Vietnamese coffee has a flavour like no other.
Intense.

Three heaping tablespoons to about 4 oz. water! I bet it's intense.

Re: Any Coffee Drinkers ?

We use an electric french press and grind the beans with our Zassenhaus old fashoned wood box hand grinder. Transfer the pressed coffee to a thermos.

Re: Any Coffee Drinkers ?

We have been useing a Melitta snap top thermos coffee maker for over 20 yrs, never had any problem with anything leaking or coming loose !! make as good a cup of coffee as any Ive ever had ! We just clamp it on top the stove and add water. We get our coffee from San Francisco Bay Coffee company, grind our beans, we keep french roast and Italian roast beans on hand at all times, it comes in 2 or 3 lbs air tite bags that keep for ever!! Just our 2 cents

Re: Any Coffee Drinkers ?

I got into the vietnamese coffee thing for while... Ended up settling upon a cold brew via an overnight soak with just coffee grounds in water (same high ratio as above, just cold brewed instead) then strain through a normal coffee filter in the morning into about 50% condensed milk. Add a bit of ice for aesthetics....Absolutely YUM and extremely simple
