bwahahaha... jess read that and said "typical male" I would have to agree with imagine2frolic, it always amazes me to watch the big strong male type shouting directions from the helm to the much smaller female type trying to handle lines and or anchor while comming in....

There are times within the rules when it IS acceptable to turn to Port.

I would explain but frankly… like most other things, the subtleties are probably lost to you.

Of course you can turn to port on a few exceptions, (1) when communicating with another vessel over VHF and your course (or) turn to port is under stud. (2) a large alteration of course and/or speed to avoid collision which is apparent to another vessel. (3) passing a vessel restricted in her ability to deviate/manoeuvre. (4) fishing vessel trawling or laying out nets..would you like me to keep going.. P.S. This video has being around on the net for some time...it's a light hearted topic. A bit of fun..lighten up..

Your light hearted attempt at women’s humour failed…but that doesn’t bother me.

However, when a self appointed “expert” says….. “never, ever turn to PORT”…. I did feel the need to correct others who might not know the rules intimately.

On both points you seem to as; “the circumstances of the case admit” ….have corrected yourself.
