Tips on Sailing from Mobile Bay to Key West

Hello, I have a 30ft Marin Clipper and am thinking of sailing from Mobile Bay, Al to Tampa Bay, Fl than to Key West, FL. I will take the icw water and don't plan on venturing too deep into the gulf. I was wondering if anybody had any tips on sailing this route. I am not a an experienced sailor but I am not going alone. Any advice or help would be vey grateful. Thank you.
