Storm Jib and/or Try-Sail on 40-50' Catamarans

Hello Cat Owners,

I'd like to hear from those experienced and knowledgable cat sailors with 40-50ft Lagoons or similar sized cats what they would recommend for storm canvas?

Im Ok with the material type (robustly constructed; heavyweight cloth; visible) and securing these sails but uncertain and seeking advise in these areas:

- Is it recommended to have either or both a try-sail and storm jib? Does the boat NOT behave with either of these types?
- What is your setup and has it worked for you? Which type have you used where you may have hove-to? Did you manage to find the right balance?
- What have you set up for rigging your try-sail and storm jib?

I am kitting out a L450 for ocean passaging that will include either or both of these canvas's - buying is the easy part (!), its the application that I need to learn.

I'd ultimately like to hear from cat owners that have used such sails in anger (or less) and can offer a constructive comment.

Thanks
Steve
