Richard, good luck, and prepare well. Once you start studying weather patterns you might find that non-stop might not be the way to go, and stopping to wait for more favorable weather patterns.

Companies don't sponsor ideas much anymore, they sponsor results. You must have a complete package. A great story, a great history of hard work towards this goal, and you must be photogenic.
I read an interview recently of a successful venture capitalist. He said that he doesn't listen to new ideas anymore. New ideas are easy to develop. He looks for results not ideas. He said that Windows wasn't the first OS, Facebook wasn't the first social media website, google wasn't the first search engine, etc. The first with a new idea isn't even close to enough for him, he wants to see an exceptional track record of hard work and success. You might want to successfully cross an ocean(even a small ocean) before you set out to go around the world.
