Predictong Swells - looking for a source

I found the following nomogram in my course materials, but no reference. I'm trying to find the original, or maybe the source paper outlining the equations used to generate it.

Googlng I realize this is probably based on the SMB (Sverdrup–Munk–Bretschneider) equations.

I'm impressed ! Probably because I'm not sure I understand the graphs and SMB Sver-
Munk -Breyschnieder equations are the type of thing that made me want to go sailing rather than pursue an advanced degree.

The one thing I do know is that the source is the wind.
