I saw an IP that had been drifting for a year or something in the North Atlantic with no one aboard. It looked great.

I think the guy had a heart attack. So both he and his wife called 911, and left the boat, drifting. It turned up near Bermuda. I saw it in Florida after it had been towed in.

If I found one, and it was in good shape, I think I'd have to try to salvage it.

I saw a Catalina 30 in the Azores last year. Maybe it was skill or maybe it was dumb luck but I am pretty sure it got there on it's own bottom.

Sad story.

Re: No Such Thing As "Blue Water" Boats...

and today I crossed ways with a Norwegian A31. Some would say that it is a race boat with a very limited cruising ability...well Norway is a long, long way from Greece and i bet those guys did not come by the inland waterways.

They also cross the Atlantic regularly racing (solo or duo crew) on a very popular transat for amateurs.
