I was the return delivery skipper on Turicum, a Vic - Maui boat, during a medical evacuation to an 1100 foot container ship 1040 miles north of Hawaii in August, 2012. This presentation discusses both the evacuation, with video from our perspective and from the container ship, and the role of the Automated Mutual-assistance VEssel Rescue System (AMVER) in marine rescues.
