Marina Rates in Mexico / Central America

I just purchased a 36' sloop that I would like to make a liveaboard in central america or mexico, I grew up in these placews as my mother was a diplomat to costa rica amd mexico. I miss those places and for the past few years I have been wanting to live there. Does anyone know of rates and anchorages in marinas in those areas before I go looking abroad?

I think you will find the rates to be all over the board. High tourist areas where the supply is short are more than where they are not. You need to focus on those areas where you might actually want to be. Marina rates change each season and sometimes a great deal. Some really cheap places may not suit your desires. Being where you want is the bigger idea.

Depends a lot on where you want to be and how long you want to stay. And what you will do during the hurricane season.

I Appreciate the replies and I failed to mention that I prefered the carribean side...although the panama canal is an option.

Cancun actually Isla Mujeres
There is a wide range of rates. At Marina del Sol and Varedero deo Oscar it it is about $350
a month for water, electricty, cable, and high speed internet. It is in the hurricane hole known as Laguna Macax just south of town. All the boats in here survived with minimal damage during that Cat 5 a few years ago.
Puerto Isla Mujeres is a super delux marina just inside the Puerto Abrigo
There are a bunch of marinas near town but they are all exposed to the wakes of the ferries,etc. and they charge a lot Paraiso,El Milagro,...as much as $1000/month!

Spanish is the language to use. Gualberto and Julia own and run the place.

If they are full next door is Varedero de Oscar with more slips, a restaurant etc. and a few bucks more a month (the Cubans have been kicked out, so it is okay once again).

Max draft is 6 ft at high tide and even then you are pushing a lot of mud.
