Introduction

It’s sometimes difficult to categorize a posting into the proper thread. Hopefully, this thread will become a home-port for some of the subjects, that aren’t very well-covered (or well-identified) elsewhere, such as:
~ Rules and Regulations
~ Marlinspike Seamanship
~ Boat Handling
~ Safety
~ Storm Management
~ Piloting and Navigation
~ Weather
~ ???

Let's have some good questions, answers, and 'lively' discussions ...

Regards,
Gord

Gord, Excellent idea. What attracted me to this forum in the first place is that sailing is broken down into various components which makes it easier to search for answers to particular questions or areas of interest. I like the SSCA forum for the same reason. Makes for a much more valuable use of my time. And the first article you posted is an excellent example and may prove useful to me as I plan to travel to Central America this winter and want to cross the Rio Dulce bar.
