Mate, not sure where you are, but in OZ you can get Dunlop Volleys from Kmart. $19 I wore them as deck shoes for over 20 years still reckon they are better than my sperries but wife still likes the sperries so accordingly do I

Good luck

I've been using these boots (from amazon). Quite low priced and work well. They are made from the same stuff Crocs are made from, so they're extremely lightweight and have a good grip on the deck. only $25

Boots with no or little lining are best. That way you can dry them faster and then change your socks. Furry lined boots turn into a portable swamp.

Hi.

I buy the sport shoes that gym people wear - with soft, yellowish rubber-like soles. Cheap and great non-slip on wet deck.

In the past, in the tropics, my footwear of choice was keds...

Sailing doesn't require expensive footwear, just grippy soles.

The trick is in northern climes when it's cold, keeping warm as well...

Boots? Are we supposed to be wearing boots? Guess that's what I am doing wrong.

Re: I need help finding sailing boots cheap.

You definitely need boots if you want dry feet. I found that to be pretty important on Lake Michigan for most parts of the year.

Not sure where the OP is though

I just looked up JY sailing ... If its cold enough to require boots, you could get a pair of 7mm surfing/diving boots off ebay for about $30.
