Hurricane Season alive and well

About a week and a half before the unofficial ending of Hurricane season on the Pacific side. I which someone would tell the Hurricanes.
Hurricane Raymond heading towards Z-town. Sustained 85 kt. Gusting 100.

We are counting our blessings on this Atlantic side. Excessive rainfall has filled all our residential cisterns, so we are good.

Glad to hear it. It was the same way when I lived on the east side of the Big Island (Hawaii). We would get 120" of rain during the high season and fill my 10,000 gallon tank.

According to the latest reports, Raymond is going to turn northwest and head for sea... Still causing nasty rain and winds ashore, but it will not make landfall.

it aint over till its over........and the arc is leaving soon....a late one could put the cat amongst the pidgeons.........

Just a gut feeling based on the fact that the seasons were late this year in the Midwest, there could be a late bloomer in the Atlantic (universal time displacement theory.)

Spring was late and fall is hanging on (although I was watching snow flurries today, 1-3 inches forecast tonight.)

atoll: Looks like six after the turn of the century, that is 6 in 12 years. If you count 1999 it is 7 late season hurricanes in 13 years. Might as well figure every other year on average. I have a 50-50 chance of being right. Hollow victory if I'm right I guess.

Approximately five of the 20 listed seem to intersect with the ARC dates.
