Was just trying to remind you that my concern was not with in mast furling as the one I have is after mast as stated in the initial post

There is only one advantage of vertical battens and that is that it works on a furler; the rest is all negative compared to horizontal battens.

If you need two hours for dropping the main then you have more to worry about than battens imho.
