Fit to be Tied - Or Know your Knots

Need help with your knots or not the time for an OOOOPS

Thanks for the info. FYI - the cleat hitch is close on "sea going dude's" post. It shows making a series of figure eights. The correct way that will always hold is listed in this link.

Cleat Hitch

wrapping the line underneath is the key to a successful cleat hitch and it will always hold and you don't need to make the figure 8's over and over again that you see too many times.

That's another great site. I have several others but they are all similar. Just thought I'd post and maybe help prevent somebody from having an unwanted "slippy ooops".

Been really hot here last few weeks and a heavy thunderstorm overhead now so need to clear out for while

Very good info now let's get to a tying. Practice will make us all better knotters;-) and keep us more secure too.
Wish I had all this tech stuff back when I was in the scouts,.......Navy too.
