I owned a 1977 C-27 #3438) for about 7 years and primarily sailed it on
San Francisco Bay. This
boat is great for near coastal cruising and believe it or not, two have circumnavigated.
You didn't mention what year your
boat was, but if it is an older model check the
anchor bolts for the shrouds. The originals were bolts with
fender washers and they break. Also the spreader brackets were originally made of
aluminum and were known to fail. Finally check your chain plates. The originals have no
backing plates and are bolted to
marine plywood, which over time tends to compress.
