If your not haveing problems in your sailing, it's because you are doing things right! your preperations are right, your equipment is maintained well. It has nothing to do with ceremonys, superstiion !! LOL But if it makes ya feel better, then thats the thing to do!! And remember never leave port on a friday !! Just kiddin

Thanks Kettlewell, we did something a little similar. We did as you have suggested and used better glasses, we clearly didn't use such good words though, as we had no auspicious canon sounds, thoght there were a few good thumps and crashes from the container loading cranes near the club. At least we performed the ceremony with a very nice Grenache, and, when I last checked the boat had not sunk, so it looks promising.
