Atlantic Ocean Crossings

Hello, I was wondering feasibility of saint johns, to Azores crossing with Nauticat 44 motor sailor holding 600 gallons plus of diesel fuel during summer 2014 at a speed of 8-9 knots. also, how far out does iceberg alley and fog extend from saint johns? finally, large ship traffic issues. Thank you all.

this route would be in lieu of the much longer crossings to Spain.
