Anchoring Technique with Old-Fashioned Anchors

I never had any challenge with these anchors but (as noted above) it is easy to get your anchor line wrapped round the stock.

When we used them, we always lowered them very gently to the bottom and then sensed the lines and paid it out very carefully.

We never reversed as these were all sailing boats.
