Advice For Delivery

Driving to Marathon Florida right now with a friend to help bring his Cal.39 around to Tampa Bay. We can clear the 7 mile bridge so headed that way from Marathon.

I've never sailed south of Tampa and the boat is new to my friend and his wife. We're all sailors, thier current boat is a 26 oday.

Looks like good east wind for days so the weather window is promising. May be leaving on Monday and would like to long haul it around if possible.

I'm just starting the passage planning now. Haven't had time as myself and a buddy boat have spent the last three days sailing from Apalachicola to St. Pete.

For any of you with time under the keel in this area any tips or advice would be most appreciated. The run from Marathon around to the Gulf/west Florida side especially.

If the present conditions continue, it looks like a nice two day sail. Stay past the three mile limit and enjoy.

My friends looked at a boat in Ft. Pierce a month ago and I did look at that passage then.

Just now realizing a run from Marathon is much simpler and closer to crossing over to the west side. A good thing since sleeping only two out of the last four nights has me off my rhythm. Really looking foward to it now.
