Your Opinions About Our Harbour-Booking System

Hello!

I am part of a project that works to improve and facilitate their stay in one of southern Sweden's largest marinas. We have found that there are many uncertainties about prices, boat space and access to everyday necessities in the harbor. To make it easier for boat owners to use the harbor services, we are developing an online booking service.

The very idea that we had in mind is a Web portal that will be available both as a mobile application and on the internet. This web portal will be able to book boat space, shore power, wi-fi, spare parts, fuel, etc.

The idea is to give boat owners the opportunity to use a volume discount if you book several spots, the more places are booked the cheaper price. An example of how this is supposed to work:

You book a boat space in the harbour and pay the standard price for the boat and the services the port offers. If you subsequently invite a friend to make a reservation in the harbor you will have both a reduced price on your boat space and access to discounts for example fuel, food and other necessities.

We are still in the design details of the concept but would like to know what you think about the basic idea.

Do you think this is an idea that would work, and something you would be interested in? We are seeking your views because you are experts in this field.

We target mainly sailors and bigger boats, but of course welcome all responses.

Best regardes

It sounds great. If you can allow sailors to choose the actual spaces using some kind of interactive map -- like the interactive seat maps the airlines have -- that would be even better.

A place for "last minute deals" where competing marina opperators can advertise specials to fill empty spots.

The club I sail with once a month negotiates special rates with different marinas on a monthly basis. If they don't deal, we won't be coming.

Sorry for late reply on what we meant with the bigger boat. It is that you can see the size of the boat space.

How about a place that offers Winter haulout deals as a 6 month package ?
