Young Man With A Dream !

Greetings everyone!

Been lurking for a few weeks, love the feel of this place and decided to join up.

I'm 22, and a Real Estate Agent in San Jose, Ca. Someday, i'm going to purchase a mid 40 foot Cat and circumnavigate. Don't have much experience outside of lasers and sunfishes but I have been on the ocean a lot when I was younger and can not wait to get back.

Re: Young Man With A Dream!

Ahoy there!!!

One thin I will say, is that the yachts in our fleet who have crew taken from the beachcats and lasers tend to fare better in races than those who jump straight on yachts! At least you have an independent feel for the wind and how to work sails. The new stuff, like winches and galleys can be taught to a monkey in less than a blink (if it's a bright monkey).

Welcome aboard!

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here. Sunfish is a great teaching craft and so is a Laser.
Save your money and get out there on the water in your big cat as soon as you can.
kind regards,
