Woman's Forum

Wasn't there a woman's forum at one time?

Yes, but it seems to have disappeared.

There is still a Mermaids group which is women only.

Re: Woman's Forum

For interested followers looking for a women's forum, check out "Women Who Sail" on Facebook. Maje already belongs, I believe, but others reading this thread may want to know about it.

My understand is that it disappeared because of unhelpful and derisive comments made by other members, mostly male.

Re: Woman's Forum

Every time I read it, it seemed fine. Certainly bantering goes on during other threads.

Re: Woman's Forum

Oh, the rumours that fly around .

A few months ago several small forums were merged into this one:
Families, Kids and Pets Afloat - Cruisers & Sailing Forums

All the old threads are still there. The "Woman's Forum" had far more men contributing than women anyway, so the name was meaningless .

Re: Woman's Forum

To me its an idea from the "past"..women are engaged in every type of activity these days and don't need anything special for them.

I've sent several join requests to "Women who sail" and have never received a response. It's been a bit frustrating.
