Wife of a Dreamer

Hi,

My husband, SouthernHiker, has been a part of the forum for a while now, and as we get closer to our dream of buying a live-aboard, he asked that I join in. I look forward to our voyage and want to say thank you to the many of you who have already had a part in guiding us closer to our goal. We are currently located in NW Georgia, but that may soon change (fingers crossed). I hope all is well with each of you and look forward to getting to know you better.

Thanks,
Curiosity

This forum and its member represent an enormous wealth of information and support to members who seek it. If you need to know something about boats and cruising... someone here will have done it already.

Ask.

Welcome aboard!

Your husband is a lucky man in that you're sharing his dream. And I hope your dream too. Talk as much as you can to other women reaching for the same lifestyle.

My wife set before me a book by Deborah Cantrell (title escapes me) addressing every single worry a woman would typically have regarding cruising.

I found it to be one of the best books I'd ever read about sailing.

Curiosity,

Well you should have seen my face when my girlfriend came home one day and said she just purchased a Catalina 30 when I was away on a business trip.

YOOoUUU WHAAAAAT. We do not know how to sail. That was ten years and three boats later. I guess I am ok with it. Life could be worse.

Wecome aboard the dream machine.

Mark

Welcome Aboard Babe

Welcome Aboard Sweetheart. These guys/gals will answer just about any question you have (just don't ask about guns, anchors, or how many hull(s) are best on a boat).

Glad to know neither of us are working hard at our jobs today

I look forward to input from someone who refers to themselves as the "wife of a dreamer" to get views from that position.

Welcome aboard.
