Welcome aboard.
Reminded me of your "Sailing Women Don't have issues" thread. Married sailing women do, but they call them husband

Welcome! Great to have another wife of a sailor here. I too am the wife of a sailor but consider myself to also be an equal participant in sailing, cruise planning, and hopefully, in the not too distant future, boat purchasing. Always great to have conversations with us gals perspective.

Thank you for all the warm, wonderful greetings. It's amazing to see and feel the support from others out there who have experience on the open waters. Currently, my job has a lot of down time, so I am going to try to expand my knowledge of cruising and prepare myself for what's to come with your helpful posts of advice and opinions. I am looking forward to making OUR DREAM a reality!

Hello WoaD and welcome.

As a former resident of NW Georgia who turned into a cruiser I am pretty sure you can do it.

Have fun.

The water is always bluer on the other side of the ocean.

Greetings and Welcome Curiosity (and Southernhiker) -

Ditto comments by Sweetsailing of "being an equal partner"!

Have fun during your research and shopping. I'd highly recommend a book by Beth Leonard: The Voyager's Handbook: Essential Guide to Bluewater Cruising. I purchased this book the year we got our boat and began the "final outfitting" of her. The book is now "tattered and well used" with highlighted sections, pages with turned down corners, notes in margins, and colored tags popping out in multiple directions. (smile)

It's a wonderful life and rarely ever "dull"! Welcome.

Southern smiles,
Sailing Mermaid
