or elsewhere in the states that's not too far. We have wondered about chartering a sailboat and taking it out everyday on day sails
for practice, but still coming back to the dock
at night and staying on the boat.
Does this sound realistic and is it affordable? I haven't checked into pricing for a rental yet.
outfits want you off their dock
asap. They seldom have enough dockspace for all their boats so coming back to their dock every night is out of the question. Dockage every night would run about $2 a foot minimum. Bitter End in BVI used to have a few small Freedoms you could charter
and use as a hotel
room and take day-sailing, the slip is included with the price
and sailing in the sound there is quite enjoyable.
However I think your best bet is a small trailer sailer and Lake Fanshaw in London. Or maybe they have a small sailing club there where you could share a boat.
