Well-Used but Newly Enthused

Sailed many moons ago on the sound and since retired to VT. Noticed a 41' Gardner Formosa Ketch. New to the area but pix look good. Wiring looks original. Engine rebuilt. Details sketchy. Owner in transition. Hope to see soon while it is up. Salt to fresh. Came from Sarasota-named Zephyrus. I last sailed a 27' Columbia. Big difference. All suggestions and advice appreciated.

Welcome to Cruisers Forum, Ed. Yes, that's a big step up in vessel size after sailing the Columbia 27, but if you feel you're up to it, then go for it. Is the vessel destined for Lake Champlain? That would be a nice size for Champlain and perhaps up the canal into the St. Lawrence and over into the Great Lakes.

I've located the information on its documentation in the USCG database - don't know if you're interested, but the information is certainly available.

Best of luck to you as you get back on the water, Ed.

Greetings and welcom aboard the CF, Ed.

Glad to hear you're enthused - it’s usually contagious!

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Its good to have you here on the forum. My last boat was a Garden ketch and they cruise very well. They don't point as high as a sloop and don't turn on a dime like a fin keeler but are great liveaboard cruisers.
kind regards,
