I should add, unsurprisingly, that more than ninety percent of the boats in Marina Hemingway were from the US. Tampa to Cuba Regatta, if I remember...

Hi Bud , Chuck varified what our friends suggested. Our friends are in the Rio now. They went west from Key West to about to about 88 west then headed south. We plan on a late Feb departure from Port Canaveral. Fl. Name of our boat is New Horizions 39 Cutter Downeaster. We figured to be using the SSB with Parker or Herb to help. If your on SSB We're on Crusehiemers especially on the weekends 8:30 EST. We're not big on following with others on a passage but perhaps our paths will cross.

Hello John,

We have friends who went to the Rio Dulce by way of Key West to Isla Majeres (which they said was almost a straight shot - skirting the western tip of Cuba) then on to Belize before clearing into Guatemala at Livingston.

You might want to ask the same question on the Rio Dulce's online news magazine's forum at: riodulcechisme.com - Home

Good Luck, Have fun Bill A.
