Wanna Start by Learning Dinghy Sailing in Sydney!

Hi there

i'm new to this forum and Aus... arrived in Canberra less than 2 months ago and can't wait to start sailing. Have had a few trials on lasers/toppers back in college and am as good as never tried before now would be great if i can find people who are keen to start learning from scratch to go sign up together - it's cheaper and more fun to do it together!

I found a couple of sailing schools such as one on Balmoral beach which teaches adult dinghy sailing with certification (i need the cert so that i can sail back home in Singapore). If anyone's keen do PM me, the next available class is on the long weekend on 4-5 Oct - hope not to miss this!

Also could anyone recommend a sailing school/club where i can learn sailing at, and my friend who's a seasoned sailor can rent a boat, so that we can both head to the same location?

Thanks!

Hi Amilee,

Google yacht club in Sydney - you'll find too many to call up. Take a day out and visit those closest, posting a short note on their notice board. Lots of two or three people dinghies struggle to find keen crew and would snap you up in an instant.

Go for it. Good luck.

Aloha and Welcome aboard,
Hope you find a good school close. That's the best way to get back into it.
regards,
