Wanna be Cruiser from Columbia S.C.

Convincing my wife to join the cruiser world when we retire, or sooner if possible.. We are both therapists at a local hospital.. Been vacationing in the Caribbean for years (we go to Mexico next month), but would love to get a catamaran and spend a few years sailing around.. Does anyone have a cat they are not using for a week to rent so that we could Test the waters and start our adventure?? Thanks and have a good evening...

Re: Wanna be cruiser from Columbia, S.C.

Being from Greenville SC and now living in Cancun Mexico when not at sea, welcome to the family of adventurers that do not live by a remote control television. The world of seafarers has a long and distinguished roster of those who traded the comforts of a rocker and nursing home to one of untold mystery and exploration. Be brave and join the fraternity. You will never look back !

Correct, its "The Wreck" on Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant outside Charleston. Great food ... and I would kill for some of it right now!

Re: Wanna be Cruiser from Columbia S.C.

I always thought Richard and Charlene were a couple. A modern day tragic comedy. Didn't know it was about a shipwreck there in Shem Cr. Love that shrimp there at the wreck, seems like I've bought coolers of shrimp next door too. I'm in western NC and sail out of ports from NC to GA, with Charleston being the closest and most $$. You'll be ultra-convenient to Charleston, but don't overlook Georgetown, and well it looks like you're from Hilton Head so you know your way around the SC coast. Good luck finding a cat.
