Hi everyone, my wife and i are currently living in Victoria BC, we visited a couple of times last year and loved it so much we packed in our jobs and ran away from home in the UK to learn to sail. We completed our competent crew RYA and at the end of the month im out for five days doing my Day Skipper practical. We have been tutored by VIMA (Vancouver Island Maritime Academy) I hope to then take the practical, we are not sure yet whether to just buy a boat and do some cruising or crew for a while. If anyone has any pearls of wisdom they are much appreciated. Ive been interested with a Hylas 46 but think price wise its a bit steep at the moment.
