Uprooting in Norway

The summer of -15 was saved by a trip to Croatia, where we from a seaside restaurant observed the boatlife. We were impressed by the size and the comfort of the sailing catamarans.
We discussed returning next year hirering one, but never did. We continued websurfing different models, and went to visit a Norwegian Lagoon 38 to see if we liked it. We were impressed by the size of it, but not completly convinced. And then there were the finances...
The last weekend of august, we drove to a boat fair in Orust in Sweden, a drive of 10 hours, to see the Lagoon 39. In addition we could get a look at the FP Helia 44.
We fell in love.
Returned to home, put our home out for sale, and ordered the Helia.

In these days we are waiting for it to start production, to finish in june. We emptied our large house, some of the stuff is stored, but most of it we sold or gave away or just threw away. As I write this, we live at my mothers place, in a bedsit in the basement

We intend to live in our boat, and have got a one year lease in a local marina. We are planning to take our time to get familiar with the boat, and to learn to sail it. We have some boating experience, and are good at listening to good advice, and we are careful about what we do. We respect both weather and our own limitations. We have beautyful surroundings here on the western coast of Norway, we are just hoping for a nice summer.

We also work on the src sertificate, and are going to learn a little more in the autumn. We are planning on a D5L exam, we dont need it formally to sail the boat, but we want to be best possibly prepared[emoji4]

Our currently biggest issue is the name of the boat!

Re: Uprooting in Norway

Where in Norway?
I was born and raised over there, but had to leave after I discovered sunshine and palmtrees.
Good Luck.
