Awesome, Mark! Did you take a class to learn or by a friend/self?

Fair winds.....
Thanks for the advise! I usually have to have four opinions before I decide on something. Mine before I start, 2 others, and mine after I hear theirs (which may or may not have changed! ) LOL

I started with a friend, learning on a Catalina 30 and a Gulfstar 43. I then got my own that I had for about 10 years, but my experience is mostly daysailing with some coastal cruising offshore. Over the next few years, I'll be taking courses in Offshore Sailing, Coastal and Celestial Navigation, and Passagemaking. The rest will be OJT!

Wow! You're way ahead of me! I'll be going out for my first 'lesson' in a few weeks. I found a group that goes out for sails and welcomes first timers along for some informal training. So excited! At Least this way I'll know a little bit when I take an actual course.
