Toronto, Ontario, Canada

3rd generation boater but first generation sailor. Planning retirement in 5 years which will include extended sailing which may include around the world or at least the Med and the Caribbeans. I have the boat B461, 2 cabins and fresh water experience only so far. Planning starts today.

Looking forward to gaining wisdom in those pages.

Well, let me be the first to welcome you aboard, as a fellow Canuck and Torontonian.

Boat on the hard, I guess? Whereabouts?

Welcome Rimica. And boatpoker, better check your compass if it shows Port Credit east of Toronto.

I am blushing from the warm welcome

Thank you all for the warm welcome. In the interest of accuracy as opposed to rough geographical approximations, the boat is indeed on the hard, in a shed in Port Credit. It is closed to home so I can get a quick "fix" just by walking to her. I sailed her out of Midland for the past 3 years and decided to bring her down in early June by water. It was a very very cold 1 week sail from Midland to Toronto. On the 2am watch we had the pleasure of water temperature of 4c and air temp a few degrees higher in the middle of lake Huron BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. The next decision point is summer 10 vacations either in the 1000 islands or back to Georgian Bay.

See you all in the various forums.

Hey Rimica

Welcome aboard! Hope to see you if you get back up to Georgian Bay. Which marina were you at in Midland? We're at Beacon Bay over in Pen. Heading up to the North Channel next summer.
