Hi from Coimbra... yup..!!! The anchorage off Grande Praia is pretty neat.. guess you must be regulars at the Yahct Club..
If you fancy a break another cool spot is Culatra just NE of the jetty for the ferry.. neat place Culatra off season..

Re: The Algarv

Welcome!

Ferraguda is a lovely spot isn't it.

Just down the road in Faro, for a winter anchorage the Guadiana must be as good as it gets anywhere round here.

Welcome to CF Jamesy. Is it past the "summer season" now? I am heading that way soon from Ireland and was planning on Portimao as my Port of entry and anchoring at Ferragudo.

Yep, though not just summer, with the easy viewing advantages of an electronic log a quick look shows I've been asked to move by the Policia Maritimo a couple of times, in March & May. Only to keep well clear of cruise ships coming in though, a bit further north into the shallows would have been fine. Least they are a nice bunch, the PM.
Alvor lovely as well

Thumbs up Re: The Algarv

Yes the police are ok about most things, but there aren’t any problems at all in the anchorage behind the breakwater great holding and lots of room for all.

Hi Boat man Ferugudo isn’t a place to be anchored in winter if that’s what you’re planning.
